Basketball, played usually by boys. But many girls also excel in this sport. Many Filipinos like this game. Some suggest to change our national game to basketball since it is the most played game in the Philippines.
Basketball is a game composed of 12 players, coach and staffs. Five players are only allowed to play in the playing court. Composed of 2 forwards, 1 center and 2 guards. Two referees are usually used.
I have a lot of idols when it comes to basketball. Mostly are guards cause they are the play makers. They set the table for the other players to score. LA Tenorio is simply the best guard for me. even though he's just a rookie in PBA, he has proven his talents since he was in UAAP and PBL. He is actually a member of the champion team of Ateneo together with Enrico Villanueva, Paolo Bugia, Wesley Gonzales and Larry Fonacier. Olsen Racela, Brandon Cablay. Paul Artadi, Jay-Jay Helterbrand, James Yap, Noy Castillio and Jimmy Alapag are just some of my guard idols.
Danny Seigle is the best forward for me. He can score from the outside and from the outside. He can do rebounding, run with the ball and dunk. And especially, he's not a hot-tempered man. Nothing is impossible for him, that's why he is called the Dynamite.Playing for San Miguel is Don-don Hontiveros for the guard-forward position. He can do anything when he's hot. He is know for his outside game. He made 6-6 record from the rainbow country. A title only 3 PBA players made.Good thing for a Cebuano. At least, he made himself as a history in PBA. Playing for Ginebra SanMiguel is Rudy Hatfield. The so-called H-Bomb. He is a good player inside. He can score every time he is free from his opponent. He also scores outside when ever he has the chance.
My favorite team is San Miguel Beermen. I the team because it is a strong team. Besides, when I first watched a PBA game, it was them who played against Coca-Cola. I really love the team because their coach JOng Uichico(former coach) uses the tactic "3-guard".What I like about the "3-guard", from it's name it uses 3 guards. Meaning the tempo of the game is so fast. It's running and gunning. Shoot here and there. Coach Jong uses Olsen, Brandon, and Don-don as his guards. Combining them with Dorian Peña as their rebounding machine and Danny Seigle as their scoring machine. But unfortunately, coach Jong is not the coach of the team now. He was replaced by the RP team coach Chot Reyes. Another bad news is Danny Seigle and Don-don Hontiveros cannot play anymore with the locals because their out for training for the FIBA competition. Add this up to the bad news counter, San Miguel is on a 0-5 win-loss record...ouch...
Try to watch PBA games and you'll get addicted to it.
